Efficiency Tips

How energy efficient is your house? By reducing the amount of energy you use, you can save money each month with lower utility bills.  Here's some reasons to get you started:

  • The Energy Guy At UGI (http://www.theenergyguyatugi.com) shows you 29 simple energy-savings tips that can be put into practice right away.
  • Do-it-yourself Home Energy Assessment Checklist is available from U.S. Department of Energy.
  • Energy Star Home Energy Yardstick shows how your home compares to others like it across the country and the Energy Advisor provides recommendations to improve your home's energy efficiency.
  • Find a home energy audit professional.  The Department of Energy's Energy Star website contains a list of partners that will perform energy audits on your home.  Look for the "Energy Rater" section on the Energy Star website.
  • See if you qualify for the Low Income Usage Reduction Program (Weatherization).  This program provides free energy conservation measures to high usage, low income households to help make energy bills more affordable.  Call (800) UGI-WARM for additional information.
